Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Announces 2020 Presidential Run With Tom Hanks on SNL

Dwayne Johnson hosted SNL for the fifth time Saturday and announced a presidential run with none other than Tom Hanks . Were they kidding? Maybe. Maybe not.

During his monologue, he was joined onstage by Alec Baldwin , who has been parodying President Donald Trump this season, The actor, who has hosted SNL many times himself, welcomed The Rock into the five-timers club.

“A lot of people have been telling me lately that I should run for President of the United States,” Johnson said. “And I gotta tell you, it’s very flattering but tonight, I wanna put this for rest and just say once and for all—I’m in.”

“Starting tonight, I am running for the President of the United States,” he said. “Yeah.”

In a recent GQ interview and appearance on The Tonight Show , the actor did not rule out the idea of a presidential run .

The “Baywatch” star opens up in “GQ” magazine and says “I think that it’s a real possibility.”

“And I’ve gotta tell you, I’ve already chosen my running mate,” Johnson said on SNL . “He’s also in the five-timers club. And like me, he is very well-liked. He’s charming, universally adored by pretty much every human alive.”

“Dwayne, I would be honored to-” Baldwin began, before the actor cut him off and said, “Mr. Tom Hanks, ladies and gentlemen!”

The Oscar winner then appeared onstage.

“Dwayne, I could not possibly turn this down! I’ll do it! I’m in! Let’s go!” he said, as he and Johnson held and raised hands.

“I will be in the cabinet because all three of us are equally beloved, not a single black mark on any of our public personas,” Baldwin joked.

Johnson said that in the past, he “never would have considered running for president” because he did not think he was qualified.

“But now, I’m actually worried that I’m too qualified,” he said.

“The truth is, America needs us,” Hanks said. “No one can seem to agree on anything anymore except for two things.”

“Pizza and us!” Johnson said.

Hanks then summed up how most of America feels about him.

“I mean, I have been in two movies where a plane crashes and people are still excited to see me on their flight,” Hanks said.

The actor told Johnson they would get “100 percent of the vote,” and that he would get the senior vote because he “fought in World War II in like 10 different movies.”

“And I, of course would get the minority vote because everyone just assumes that I’m, well, whatever they are,” said Johnson, whose father is of Black Nova Scotian descent and mother is of Samoan heritage.

Hanks said the two would be able to handle any crisis, even war, then gave a pretend inspirational speech.

“When it comes to politics, we need more poise and less noise,” Johnson said, echoing comments he made on The Tonight Show . “Americans deserve strong, capable leaders, leaders who care about this country and care about its people.”

“Uh, Dwayne, that kind sounds like you and me,” Hanks said. “I guess we gotta do it!”

WWE signs top-ranked Women’s wrestlers

From a punk-rock pugilist to a powerhouse protégé of The Dudley Boyz, four new female recruits have joined the WWE Performance Center, bolstering the already robust pipeline of competitors into the NXT, Raw and SmackDown LIVE Women’s divisions.

Independent standouts Kimberly Frankele, Dori Prange and MaryKate Duignan Glidewell, along with former mixed martial artist Julia Ho, reported for training this week in Orlando, Fla.

Frankele has competed for more than six years under the ring alias Kimber Lee.
Trained by WWE Cruiserweight Drew Gulak, she came to sports-entertainment from the world of classical dancing, where she earned a degree in dance education and was a ballerina for much of her life. In addition to capturing titles throughout the independent scene, including in both Shine Wrestling and SHIMMER Women Athletes, Frankele was the only female to ever hold the Chikara Grand Championship. Frankele has also fought in NXT, coming up short recently against the undefeated Ember Moon.

Kimber Lee and Heidi Lovelace among WWE Performance Center’s new recruits

Joining Frankele will be one of her most noted peers and rivals from the indies, Dori Prange, aka Heidi Lovelace. Nicknamed the “Punk Rock Ragdoll,” the outspoken Prange has competed not only in the U.S. indie scene but also in Japan, where she wrestled under the banner of World Wonder Ring Stardom.
“Pro Wrestling Illustrated” ranked Frankele and Prange at 17 and 20, respectively, in its 2016 list of the world’s top female grapplers.

Five-foot-eleven Glidewell, who has competed under the name Andréa, brings a powerful arsenal to the WWE Performance Center. A product of Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley’s wrestling academy, Glidewell is a 10-year veteran who has fought all over the globe, including matches teaming with and against the likes of Japanese legends Aja Kong and Kyoko Inoue.

Rounding out the newcomers is Julia Ho. A professional model and singer, Ho is looking to parlay her success in mixed martial arts — where she is undefeated — into the squared circle.

Which of these women will be the first to make her mark in WWE? Stay tuned to WWE.com for continuing coverage of the WWE Performance Center’s newest recruits.

WWE superstar and COO Triple H reveals his love for one Premier League club

WWE superstar Triple H has revealed his love for a London club who are currently struggling in the Premier League.

In a bizarre twist, H is not an Arsenal or Chelsea fan rather he supports West Ham.

He revealed last year he was a big hammers fan but reaffirmed that love in a recent interview with ITV where he backed his team to do well in the league.

The wrestling legend wants his team to build on their midweek win over Burnley and start moving in the right direction in the Premier League.

“They had a win. It’s momentum, in the right direction now,” he told ITV.

“A win’s a win! You can’t take that away.

“Always believe! It’s never too late, just keep your head up. Where there’s a will there’s a way.”

Mark Noble’s goal gave the Hammers a huge win over Burnley

Triple H has won 14 wrestling championships as well as the King of the Ring title.

Maybe West Ham need a hard man like H to improve in the league this season as they have often shown a soft center.

WWE: Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar to square off at Survivor Series 2016?

-Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar ‘in heavy negotiations’ with WWE for big fight

-Former WWE commentator Jim Ross has said that Goldberg and Lesnar could fight at Survivor Series, which is scheduled for 20 November.

Rumour mills were in overdrive about the possibility of a match between Bill Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33. Now, Wrestling Observer has reported that the two superstars have either already agreed for a fight or are in “heavy negotiations” with the WWE regarding the big fight.

Bill Goldberg’s last fight was against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania in 2004 (2K Games)

Densdome’s online Wrestling Observer, Dave Meltzer has said that the “rumors from inside WWE” suggest that the deal between The Beast Incarnate and the 49-year-old wrestler was signed over the weekend. Sources apparently told Meltzer that “such a match was either finalised or at least in heavy negotiations”.

Former WWE commentator Jim Ross has also indicated the same. The WWE Hall of Famer has said that the former WCW and WWE world heavyweight champion could make his WWE return sooner than expected.

Ross took to social media to say that Goldberg and Lesnar are likely to fight at Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV), which is to take place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 20 November.
“Another source says that @Goldberg vs @BrockLesnar is a done deal and that it will likely go down at #SurvivorSeries. If true, bravo @wwe,” the 64-year-old wrote on Twitter.

Previously, Goldberg had hinted that he might just make his WWE return with a fight against Brock Lesnar.

“No matter how old I am and you never say never but I mean it’s getting close to that clock kind of stopping on me but I mean you know you never seen we need one more in may,” Goldberg said during an interview with Fanatics View Originals.

“I don’t know, can I still do this? Man, I still can do it at 49. Brock, you’re next,” Goldberg said as he ripped a T-shirt with Lesnar’s name on it.

Goldberg and Lesnar fought at WrestleMania 20 before the former retired from WWE in 2004.
