“A lot of people have been telling me lately that I should run for President of the United States,” Johnson said. “And I gotta tell you, it’s very flattering but tonight, I wanna put this for rest and just say once and for all—I’m in.”

“Starting tonight, I am running for the President of the United States,” he said. “Yeah.”

In a recent GQ interview and appearance on The Tonight Show , the actor did not rule out the idea of a presidential run .

The “Baywatch” star opens up in “GQ” magazine and says “I think that it’s a real possibility.”

“And I’ve gotta tell you, I’ve already chosen my running mate,” Johnson said on SNL . “He’s also in the five-timers club. And like me, he is very well-liked. He’s charming, universally adored by pretty much every human alive.”

“Dwayne, I would be honored to-” Baldwin began, before the actor cut him off and said, “Mr. Tom Hanks, ladies and gentlemen!”

The Oscar winner then appeared onstage.

“Dwayne, I could not possibly turn this down! I’ll do it! I’m in! Let’s go!” he said, as he and Johnson held and raised hands.

“I will be in the cabinet because all three of us are equally beloved, not a single black mark on any of our public personas,” Baldwin joked.

Johnson said that in the past, he “never would have considered running for president” because he did not think he was qualified.

“But now, I’m actually worried that I’m too qualified,” he said.

“The truth is, America needs us,” Hanks said. “No one can seem to agree on anything anymore except for two things.”

“Pizza and us!” Johnson said.

Tom Hanks

Hanks then summed up how most of America feels about him.

“I mean, I have been in two movies where a plane crashes and people are still excited to see me on their flight,” Hanks said.

The actor told Johnson they would get “100 percent of the vote,” and that he would get the senior vote because he “fought in World War II in like 10 different movies.”

“And I, of course would get the minority vote because everyone just assumes that I’m, well, whatever they are,” said Johnson, whose father is of Black Nova Scotian descent and mother is of Samoan heritage.

Hanks said the two would be able to handle any crisis, even war, then gave a pretend inspirational speech.

“When it comes to politics, we need more poise and less noise,” Johnson said, echoing comments he made on The Tonight Show . “Americans deserve strong, capable leaders, leaders who care about this country and care about its people.”

“Uh, Dwayne, that kind sounds like you and me,” Hanks said. “I guess we gotta do it!”

Donald Trump Begins Sexual Assault Awareness Month: Defends Bill O’Reilly

Donald Trump Kicks Off Sexual Assault Awareness Month By Defending Bill O’Reilly

The president said the Fox News host “shouldn’t have settled” in lawsuits accusing O’Reilly of sexual harassment.
President Donald Trump said he doesn’t think Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, who has been accused of sexual harassment by several women, did anything wrong.
In an interview with The New York Times on Wednesday, Trump defended O’Reilly after the Times reported that O’Reilly or Fox News paid five women a total of about $13 million to settle claims of sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior over the years.
“I think he’s a person I know well — he is a good person,” Trump said on Wednesday.
“I think he shouldn’t have settled; personally, I think he shouldn’t have settled,” Trump added. “Because you should have taken it all the way. I don’t think Bill did anything wrong.”
O’Reilly has so far stayed silent on the scandal, despite losing at least 15 advertisers for “The O’Reilly Factor,” his primetime Fox News show.
Trump’s comments echo statements he made about former Fox News chief Roger Ailes in July 2016, amid another sexual harassment scandal at the network. Trump claimed Ailes’ accusers had received help from Ailes and then said “these horrible things about him.”
“It’s very sad. Because he’s a very good person. I’ve always found him to be just a very, very good person. And by the way, a very, very talented person. Look what he’s done. So I feel very badly,” Trump told NBC.
More than a dozen women have accused Trump himself of sexual assault. Trump called them liars and threatened to sue them after the 2016 presidential election ended, but so far has taken no legal action.
The Washington Post unearthed a video in October of Trump claiming he can grab women “by the pussy” because he is a celebrity. He dismissed the comment, which was made in 2005, as “locker room talk.”
Last week, Trump declared April National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.

BREAKING: Russian Ambassador to UN Dies in New York

The Russian ambassador to the United Nations died after suffering cardiac arrest in Manhattan Monday morning, a day before his 65th birthday, sources told The Post.

Vitaly Churkin fell ill at his office at the Russian Mission to the U.N. on East 67th Street around 9:30 a.m. and was unconscious when emergency personnel arrived, sources said.

Churkin was given CPR and taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital in serious condition.

He was pronounced dead at 10:55 a.m., sources added.

Churkin had served as Russia’s permanent representative to the U.N. since 2006.

His death was announced Monday, followed by a moment of silence, at a routine meeting on General Assembly matters.

Many of Churkin’s colleagues took to social media to express their condolences.

“Shocked and saddened to learn that Ambassador Vitaly Churkin passed away. A top diplomat and a good friend,” Russian Ambassador to the UK Alexander Yakovenko tweeted.

Netherlands’ UN Ambassador Karel van Oosterom wrote: “Emotional announcement at UN of passing away this morning of PermRep Russia Churkin and moment of commemoration and condolences.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed Churkin “unexpectedly died” but provided no details as to how he died.
It called him an “outstanding” envoy.
Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a Facebook post that Churkin was “an extraordinary person. A bright man. We have lost a dear one.”

President Vladimir Putin was notified of his death, state news agency TASS reported.

“The president was grieved to learn about the death of Vitaly Churkin. The head of state highly estimated Churkin’s professionalism and diplomatic talents,” spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to the agency.

Churkin was currently the longest-serving member of the Security Council, the UN’s most powerful body.

“He has been such a regular presence here that I am actually quite stunned. Our thoughts go to his family, to his friends and to his government,” said Farhan Haq, a spokesman for the UN secretary-general’s office.

Churkin was a staunch supporter of Russian policy, including its bombing of Aleppo in Syria last year.

He slammed US Ambassador Samantha Power for acting like “Mother Teresa” – while noting America’s track record in the Middle East — after she lambasted Russia, Syria and Iran over the Aleppo crisis.

Power also reacted to Churkin’s sudden death.

“Devastated by passing of Russian UN Amb Vitaly Churkin.Diplomatic maestro &deeply caring man who did all he cld to bridge US-RUS differences,” she tweeted.

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, who earlier this month blamed Russia for the spike in violence in eastern Ukraine and said sanctions wouldn’t be lifted until Moscow returned Crimea to Kiev, issued a statement calling Churkin “a gracious colleague.”

“We did not always see things the same way, but he unquestionably advocated his country’s positions with great skill,” she said. “We send our prayers and heartfelt condolences to lift up his family and to the Russian people.”

Churkin previously worked in the foreign ministry in Moscow.

BBC interview: Islamic cleric calls for Aisha Buhari’s arrest

An Islamic cleric, Shiek Ismail Illyasu Mangu, has called on security agencies to arrest the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, over her public criticism of her husband on the interview she granted the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Service (BBC).

Shiek Mangu, reacting to the comments made by Aisha Buhari, at Jamaatul Izalatul Bid’ah Mosque in Farm Centre, Kano, said the interview of the first lady is capable of inciting millions of Nigerians against her husband, This day reports.

Speaking to thousands of worshipers immediately after the Jumaat prayer, the cleric suggested that members of the opposition in the country were using first lady to tarnish the image of the president and the country.

“We are sad about the interview granted by the wife of the President. We believe that opposition members in the country are using her against the government. Her statement is unfair and capable of inciting violence. It is a threat to the peace of the country and we do hope the security agencies will immediately arrest her,” the cleric said.

“We believed that some ungrateful elements in the country are using the wife of the president to tarnish the image of the president and the country. Nigerians are not in her support. ”
Recall that the wife of the president in the BBC interview aired on Friday, October 14, had expressed her frustration over the treatment meted out to party loyalists by those she said didn’t play any role in the ascension of her husband to the presidency but were now calling the shots.

In a reaction, the president who is in Germany on a state visit dismissed his wife’s claim saying: “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.”
But the presidency however was quick to point out that the reference to kitchen was not intended to be derogatory but humourous.

Father Mbaka’s latest Prophecy has been fulfilled

Controversial Catholic Priest Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministries Enugu on October 6, Wednesday, congratulated officials of Rangers FC with winning the Nigerian Professional Football League.

He presented N2 million and decoders to players at the dedication of the league trophy to God at the ministry by the club.

Rev. Mbaka said that he was happy that God fulfilled his prophecy to the club after 32 years in the wasteland.

The prominent man of God said: “Before the 2016/2017 season began, we dedicated the players and the league to God in which a prophecy came that the league trophy belongs to Rangers.

“Today, we are celebrating God`s work in action, we are no more praying to emerge the champion but celebrating the champions.

“For this achievement, I and the Adoration Ministries hereby give N2 million to Rangers FC and a decoder to each member of the club.’’

Mbaka blasted those who labeled him a false prophet and released his prophecies for 2016.

He warned the leader of the nation that his life is in danger because of his fight against corruption.

The cleric said: “Many people are planning to kill Buhari; there are many plans on how to eliminate his life so that corruption will continue; so that embezzlement will continue.”
