Doctor Who and Britain’s Got Talent face-off in ratings – but which show won?

DOCTOR WHO and Britain’s Got Talent battled fiercely in the Saturday night ratings yesterday as both series made a comeback – but which show proved more popular?

Bosses of both programmes will be happy as each episode held steady in the ratings as they debuted with near-identical viewing figures to those of their previous season-openers.

BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who returned for season 10 with Peter Capaldi taking on the lead role, attracting overnight ratings of 4.6 million for series opener The Pilot.

Identical to the previous series-opener from 2015, the show has proved to be as popular as ever, but can the show retain the audience for the entire 12-part drama?

Viewing figures may also receive another boost when catch-up audience numbers are added to the total.
