There was pandemonium on Wednesday, September 28, at Abico Market unit 10 ward 8 in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo state when an agent of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reportedly slumped and died at the polling unit.
According Daily Trust, the 58-year-old man whose name was given as Solomon Omorogbe left his house to the polling unit early in the morning where he was to serve as a polling agent.
It was gathered that the deceased slumped shortly after casting his vote.
The 58-year-old was said to have been rushed to Akugbe hospital by his first son, Charlie and other sympathizers, at the polling unit where he was confirmed dead by the doctor.
The election which took place on Wednesday, saw many people come out to support their preferred candidates. He was announced winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday, September 29, after polling 319,483 votes.
